CAMERA SEPTEMBER DAY-4 FACEBOOK LIVE WITH DOP LANRE TYSON

lanre-camera-septemberHi guys. i know this is october but who cares. We have to finish what we all started

Let me tell you people a story. In the early days of the Blackmagic cameras, A director rushed to buy one to shoot his film. the camera came straight from the airport to set. The DOPs just went on and hit the record button. They were recording in 12-bit uncompressed cinemaDNG files. in 15minutes, 250GB had finished. Of course they came to me and the director claimed the DOP didn’t know what he was doing. I helped them change the settings back to ProRES and of course chop their money! Ignorance will cost you money in this business.

Today will be special. I have invited my friend, Lanre Tyson to come show everyone how to work their cameras for free. If i had this opportunity 5 years ago, I’ld be living in banana island now.

Lanre Tyson was one of the early pioneers of the renaissance that happened with music videos in the 2000s. He is an amazing storyteller with the camera and a tech lover. He’s worked with all the big clients, won numerous awards and knows these toys way more than i do. Understanding how to operate the camera is beyond pressing the red button. what do you adjust when all goes wrong. This session isn’t just for Cinematographers. Directors and Producers should be a part of it. I have had many instances on set when my cameraman was confused and i had to fix it.

On facebook tonight, Lanre will show us how to work the Canon 5d, Blackmagic camera and RED Scarlet. The Blackmagic camera has been supplied FOR FREE by Femi Adisa, a passionate filmmaker who also runs a camera rental business (08037014336) and his set to release his new film, “King Invincible” soon. The RED scarlet is supplied by Oje Onuigboje of Touchmedia studios, also a rental company (08082996237). they will give u great discount if you say you are from the blog.
